Booklet imposition calculator
Reader pages in — printer spreads, press sheets, and spine-creep compensation out. The same math our engine runs on real saddle-stitch jobs.
Typical: 0.004" for 80# text, 0.005" for 100# text.
This calculator does the math — Plateroom builds the booklet. Drop the reader-order PDF, type "44-page saddle stitch, plate 2-up on 12x18," download printer spreads with creep compensated.
Try it freeBooklet math, in plain English
A saddle-stitch book needs pages in multiples of four — each folded sheet carries four reader pages. Pages become printer spreads (last page next to first, second next to second-to-last, and so on), spreads pair front-and-back onto press sheets, and on thicker books the inner sheets push outward at the fold — spine creep — so inner-page content must shift toward the spine or it gets trimmed at the face. Our engine compensates creep automatically from your caliper.
